Sacrifice And Satisfaction

“It may sound simple but sacrifice is one of the most difficult things in the world.  People have visions and dreams every day but the fact that you have to give up something you enjoy to make something else happen means that many of those dreams won’t come to pass.  The average person has a problem with deferred gratification.  People generally want what they want right now – whether it is the right thing to have at the time or not.  What they don’t realize is that they’re sacrificing anyway.  They sacrifice long-term satisfaction or happiness for short-term pleasure.  If you can overcome this habit you will be well on your way to success. ”

Make sure you read that quote a few times.  It may take a few times to really get what it’s saying.  Then relate it to your own life.  Is there anything in your life that you have a hard time separating yourself from, yet it may be one of the things holding you back from achieving something you’ve always dreamed of doing?  Is it hard for you to give up comfort and security for the unknown, even if that unknown could result in a great personal achievement?  It may not.  But if it does, what are you waiting for?  Life is about making sacrifices.  Despite what someone might tell you, you can’t do everything.  You have to choose the things that are most important, keep laser focus on them and be willing to shut out all the other nonsense that goes on around you.  If you can do this you will be able to have more energy for the things that truly matter and you can rid yourself of the useless noise that invades your senses every day.

Happy Wednesday!
